Jacey began loving gymnastics when she was just two years old.  Her older brother had a birthday party at a gymnastics center and Jacey happily explored the entire gym!  Her love for the sport has not changed and she currently trains 24 hours per week at Jaycie Phelps Athletic Center (JPAC) under owners and coaches Dave Marus and Jaycie Phelps.

Her USAG career began after recreational gymnastics lessons and one year of Ohio Valley competition.  She started training for USAG level 5 competition under coaches Dave Marus and Jaycie Phelps when they opened their gym in Greenfield, IN in 2010 and has been there ever since.  As a compulsory gymnast, Jacey ended the season as State Champion for AA, VT, BB, & FX.  She was named JPAC's "Hardest Worker" at the first-ever team banquet in 2012.

As she moved to optionals, she loved upgrading her skills.  She skipped level 6 and finished her level 7 season as the FX and VT IN State Champion, also earning 2nd place AA and 4th on UB.  At the 2013 team banquet Jacey was named the teammate with the "Best Attitude." She finished Level 8 as the IN State Champion for UB and BB and runner-up for FX and AA.  At her first Regional competition she earned 1st on UB, 4th AA, and 6th on BB.

In 2015 Jacey moved up to level 9.  She ended the season as the IN State Beam Champion, tied for 1st AA at Regionals (also 2nd on VT, 3rd on UB & BB, and 6th on FX), and earned 3rd on AA, VT, & UB, 5th on BB, and 12th on FX at Eastern Nationals.  Her coaches again honored her as the optional team's "Best Attitude" winner for that season.

In 2016 Jacey was sidelined with an injury.  In 2017 she competed every event at eight meets, including her high scores on VT (9.725/Presidential), FX 9.675/Midwest Showdown), UB (9.425/Presidential), BB (9.625/Metroplex), FX (9.675/Midwest Showdown), and AA (38.125/Midwest Showdown & IN State).  Jacey also qualified for the Nastia Liukin Cup in 2017, won 1st at the IN State meet for AA, VT, UB, & FX (2nd on BB), and ended the season as the alternate at JO Nationals.

She added some upgrades for 2018 and had a very fun season!  Again in 2018 she competed every event at every meet, including high scores on VT (9.800/IN State), UB (9.525/IN State), BB (9.450/IN State), FX (9.700/Nashville Nights & IN State), and AA (38.475/IN State).  At her 2nd Nastia Liukin Cup she finished AA and VT 2nd, UB 7th, BB 4th, and FX 6th for the Juniors.  She had a great post-season, qualifying to JO Nationals and finishing 4/4 with a 37.475.  In June JPAC held the annual team banquet where Jacey was named "Best Attitude" for the team's optional girls.

2019 brought more upgrades, as well as continued work on clean routines and mental toughness.  Jacey has had a solid season, competing all four events in all but one meet.  She was so excited to compete at Nationals "in our backyard!"  She ended the season with another personal best on UB, hitting all of her routines all season long, and becoming the J.O. Jr E

all around National Champion!  She is so very thankful to her fantastic coaches, friends, and family who have supported her and cheered her on all season.  It was an awesome ending to a great season!

Jacey also finished her academic year strong, ending with a 4.376 GPA.  At the 2019 JPAC Team Banquet, Jacey was recognized for being part of the "4 for 4" club, hitting all 4 events in 8 of 8 meets."  She was also named the Optional Team "Gymnast of the Year."  Again, many thanks to her amazing coaches, teammates, and friends for helping her every day!

Jacey was invited to attend the Region 5 JO Banquet in September where she was named one of 5 "JO Athletes of the Year."  She had an absolute blast on the All-Star trip in October where she and coach Jaycie Phelps traveled to San Juan, Puerto Rico with their friends on the Region 5 All Star Team.

The 2020 season was filled with highlights, including holding three of the top AA scores (39.275, 39.125, and 39.100) for all level 10s in the country, finishing 2nd AA in her third Nastia Liukin Cup appearance (first year as a senior), and staying healthy/having fun!  We are all sad that the competition season was cut short, but thankful for great experiences with amazing friends, family, and coaches.  Very much looking forward to getting back to competing in 2021!

After much thought and prayer, Jacey de-committed from her verbal commitment to Arkansas in late July, 2020. She proudly accepted an offer from the University of Michigan for a full-ride gymnastics scholarship on August 17th, 2020. Go Blue!!!

The 2021 season, her senior year, was short-lived. After 2 meets were cancelled due to COVID-19 concerns, the girls finally got to complete. Jacey hit 4/4, scoring her highest season debut ever. However, at the Buckeye Classic she ruptured her Achilles tendon on her first tumbling pass during her floor routine. She had surgery on February 12th and is expected to make a full recovery.

Jacey lives in Fishers, IN with her parents and dog, Pepper.  Her older brother, Jon, is a sophomore at Butler University where he is a pitcher on the baseball team.  She loves school, photography, cooking/baking, boating, biking, traveling, going to the high school games and her brother's games, going to concerts, and hanging with friends.
